I polished it, but a bronzish hue comes through.  I'm going to leave it for now but will figure something out at some point for it, I'm sure.

I've found metal finger wheels fairly easy to repaint.  I used common paint stripper, then sanded them down and used rattle-can primer and paint.
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

Greg, your comment on the wiring is certainly right! Now that I have the thing clean, the time has come to tackle that part of the project....
