Just listed is another "elusive dream phone," the elusive WE 130A Donut and it seems to be in a bit better overall condition than the subject of Auction Contest 101. However, this one has an OST receiver and a "329" transmitter. Listed with a starting price of $9.99, it's a 7 day auction with no reserve. As with #101, the subset is not included in this auction.

The seller listed it as a "Antique WESTERN ELECTRIC "DONUT PHONE" WALL PHONE" with the item condition as "Used" and says "Up for auction this evening is an Estate fresh Antique WESTERN ELECTRIC "DONUT PHONE" WALL PHONE.  The mouthpiece has a few chips, The receiver has several tight hairline cracks on the body, it may have been repaired/restored but looks good and is all together. Sold as is as you see it, Enlarge the photos and zoom in for a closer look and judge for yourself the condition.  Guaranteed 100% old and authentic!!! NO RESERVE!!.   Please ask all questions before you bid, all sales final.  Because all items are found from estates, they are sold As-Is.  Buyer to pay shp/hdlg.  Paypal Preferred! BUT OTHER METHODS ACCEPTED!  Shipping costs depend on zip code area.  I have never had any problems with breakage and pack very carefully. ".

Still another chance to either move up a rung or to get onto the CRPF -> Contest Standings <- list.

As always, you have to play to win!

New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

I will help members as the contest progresses to prevent guess crowding under Rule #3, the 5% rule.

Based upon the 5% rule I think we need to adjust up to $477.75 ;D

I saw that, and, well, yes, but since the gap between $455 and $500 is a bit less than 10%, a middle of the road split the difference guess of $477.50 is spot on . . .  8)  I have been allowing guesses of more than 4.5% but never under that so splitting a mid 9% to 10% gap has been accepted, but only on a split the difference basis.

The other thing I was thinking about after I put this auction up was maybe, being an auction with a phone item similar to one just run (and we know what that sold for), it might have been better to do a one time adjustment to Rule 3 to make the gap 3%. or 3.5% or 4% just so more people could get in at the "last sale" range. Too late now, and this donut may go for a lot more than the last auction, or the same or less (who knows where the fickle finger of fate will end up in this auction) so there are still plenty of slots on the high end and a few on the low end. Just seems most have guesses around the last auction sale price and filled up the ranges.

There are a few slots left, as noted, below should anyone want to take guess.
