Anyone wonder about Oldphoneworks beginnings?

I came across this today.

Many moons ago, I went to school with Don Woodbury and his siblings at BCIVS in Brockville, Ontario, home of GTE/Automatic Electric in Canada and its old plant, Phillips Electrical Works. I didn't realize at the time, I wasn't the only one from Brockville effected by the contagious telephone bug.

Back about ten years ago, I noticed Don's email address on one of the telephone lists. I emailed him, and discovered he was the Don Woodbury I had known so many years before.

See:

Don is the sponsor of this year's Canadian Antique Telephone Show and Sale as he has been several times in the past.

For anyone interested in vintage phones, the place to be on Saturday, Sept. 29, will be the Military Communications and Electronics Museum at Canadian Forces Base Kingston for the 21st annual Canadian Antique Telephone Show and Sale. It will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission to the show is free.

For more details about the show, see:

http://www.phoneshow.ca/

Because of limitations imposed on travel caused by my disabilities, I won't be able to go, but I would give my eye teeth to be able to be there.

Don't forget to speak with Don if you need phones or parts, and don't forget about the show.

Don's website does reflect our expensive postage rates, but contact Oldphoneworks personally if you need a lower rate. They will work with you to try to keep the shipping rate as low as possible, and the quality of their merchandise is excellent.
