It appears to be from Phonecoinc, but darn sure resembles a toaster, don't you think?

I believe that the phone is British, and I have seen it referred to as a "toaster phone".

So, if I converted it to a real toaster, and got the handset to "pop up", would that be better, worse, or about equal to converting it into a lamp?   ::)

This was a magnito set built by ATEA in Belgium. Some had a hole for a dial, most did not. The handsets were Bell Telephone mfg co. We assembled lots of those at Chicago Old Telephone. looked sharp in chrome.
