I entered a bid for this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160392973627 just for fun.  I was sure that I would be outbid by alot, but I guess that people weren't interested because of the handset condition and the lack of a dial.

Larry...GREAT PHONE!! Base looks to be in wonderful condition. No need for a dial, looks perfect without one. Manual phones are my favorites....congrats!.....Doug

Good grab, Larry.  That's a great price.  Patience pays off, sooner or later.  Although I like the manual phones, I'd put a #4 in that B1.  Nice purchase.

Now I feel better.  Also, I see that Steve Hilsz has parts for E1 handsets really cheap, so I should be able to replace the broken part easily.

Nice buy.  I saw the same phone for sale yesterday in a local antique shop, the wanted, drumroll please, $328 dollars American.

Larry, that was a deal! I don't have one yet, but would love to add one too!

Congrats on a great buy, Larry.
I like how they called it a "Sam Spade" phone in the Ebay ad.
Is that like a 302 being called a "Lucy" phone"?
Oh well, I knew it would happen sooner or later... ;)
Coincidentally, I was just re-watching The Maltese Falcon yet again, and...
Bogey wants to talk to you about your phone... ;)

I just pulled the trigger on a BIN E1 for $25.00 and felt I ghot the deal of the century. Heck you got the handset for $22.50, and they threw in the base.
Now I hate you also...

Great find.

D/P,

Your handset appeared to be in better shape than this one, so don't start hating me yet.

Larry;
OK I'll wait awhile before I hate you. Where can I find Steve's parts ?

I had that one on my watch list, but didn't pay much attention to it, because I was certain the price would jump way out of my reach.  I couldn't believe it when I saw the final price!  I'm glad somebody here got it, though.

D/P,

Steve Hilsz has a web site at: http://phonesurplus.com.  You can also call him if you don't see what you need.  He seems quite friendly and helpful.
