I have not seen a Kellogg Select-o-phone like that before.  I bought one recently which was based on the model 1000 (redbar) (http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=1902.0).  I found out that almost everything inside needs to be replaced to make the phone work on a normal phone line.  Even the dial pulses the wrong way for a normal phone.  I would guess that this phone has been internally modified if it really works as the listing states.

Yes they made these in desk and wall, both in Black and Brown bakelite.

As it has been said, these will not work on the normal phone line, with out changing the inside.

What a phone!

With a selct-o-phone system or demo unit these can be used as old-school home automation, You can ring bells, turn on lights, intercom ect.
