Someone has asked me for an exploded view diagram of the E1 (seamed) handset? I have checked everything I have and I don't believe I have such a thing. Do any of you have one you can share with us?

'Exploded' means what? A parts break with numbered arrows? There is a cross-section of the E1A in The Early Years.
The 'seamed' or 'grooved' E1 was only short-lived from ca. 1935 to end of manufacture maybe three or four years, and they always had a 625A transmitter.  I don't think I have ever come across a cross-section of that version, because all the historical accounts are usually about the early years, not the end of the handset.  I don't have the 1939 catalog, perhaps that has a parts break down still, but I would rather think they removed the handset by then.

Yes, exactly that. I have never seen one either....

The Army Signal Corps manuals had great drawings and cross-sections of some parts and telephones, I don't know whether they ever depicted the E1 handsets, but it may be worth checking if the manuals are available.

Do not have an exploded view but maybe a phantom view would help.

Hi Dennis:

I will pass it along to him to see if it helps him - I think he is looking for one which shows all the parts dis-assembled, but perhaps this will help him. Thanks!
