Panasonic 308 Distinctive Ringing - 2 shorts or 1 long, that is the question...

Is there any way to intercept the incoming signal that dictates 1 long ring on a land line and convert it to something more interesting, like the 2 shorts I get when I dial an extension on my PBX?
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

Depending which PBX you use, you can set the ringing cadence for incoming exchange calls separately from extension-extension calls.

You may have a 3rd cadence option for reverted/abandoned calls.

My Panasonic kxt 616 has no choice of ring cadence, but it is a first generation. Mine is UK model, and has double rings on calls from trunk lines, and longer single rings on calls from ext. lines.
