I have a Western Electric Deco-Tel Candlestick phone that could use a new transmitter.  I have found various sources for parts, but do not know what parts numbers will yield  for a compatible part.  Can anyone advise?  Thanks

It's called a "T1 transmitter unit." The same part  is used in G1, G3 or G15 handsets on most Western Electric phones from the 1950s up.

The above transmitter is for Deco-Tel with Western Electric parts. Your Deco-Tel, as shown in your other post,  has Automatic Electric parts, so you may need an AE transmitter. Anyone here know for sure?

That T1 shown will not work on the Deco Tel stick. The Deco Tel has snap ring contacts. The T1 must have the older style center contact.Dont know if GTE-AE parts fit

You have a standard T1 made by SC.Any T1 will work except the Ebay one.carefully pull off the inner contact ring to see what you need to look for

Deco-Tel candlesticks are a mix of components, depending on whom it was manufctured for.

GTE Automatic Electric had a version with AE parts in the base, and the Bell System and Independents had a version as well.

However, the earpiece and transmitter components (The U1 receiver element and T1 transmitter) were ITT, NE, SC, or WE types, depending on what was installed

So, to answer your question, regardless if your Deco-Tel Candlestick is a version with AE components in the base, the receiver will be a U1 receiver and the transmitter a T1 transmitter.

On versions the Bell System carried, the transmitter contacts are 2 metal rings with a screw for connecting the transmitter leads on each. The non-Bell ones have a lead soldered to each contact
