I thought you all might enjoy following this auction.  It's the red phone from my collection that was recently ousted by an earlier example with gray cords that I won on ebay.  My friend Jorge had first dibs but he passed on it.  I think, like me, he likes doing the restoration work himself (and lovely work he does too!).  So let's see how this one ends up:

No llores, amigo mio, place your bid! ;D

Clearly this phone is just cluttering up your place, so I will offer to take it off your hands to free up room.  Just send it to me, and D/P will reimburse you for shipping.   ;) ;)

It's a sweet sweet phone, I've never seen anything like this in person, never seen a soft plastic 500 in color.  Hopefully when I go to the phone show in San Jose next month I can see some soft plastic in color.

Jorge;
Just curious, you have a better example of that phone for your pewrsonal collection, or don't collect that type ?

D/P:

I have two red WE500s, just like the one from finlover, with manufacturing dates that correspond to my brother and sister birth dates. Then there is the red with the gray curly handset cord. And one more like Dennis' birthday phone, with a gray straight handset cord.

I have a phone I bought from finlover about three years ago. He does very good work and wouldn't mind having another one.

But five WE500 red phones in a household would be too many. Right?  ;D ;D ;D

Finlover;
Do you have a better example for your collection ?
Do you have a time machine or something similar, are you in Kahoots with the dark side.

Yes!  I found an earlier red '55 with gray cords.  It's in the works right now and I'll post some pix when I'm done...I mean after I've taken it for a spin in my satanic time machine ;)

Oh WOW! That phone is very nice. I bet you get a nice price for it.  :)

finlover

Thanks, Tom!
I'm hoping for close to 3 bills, but we'll see...
When I first started doing this, a red '57 500 I had only brought $59, but it wasn't as nice as this one.

Maybe you will get lucky and get $700+ from the same Japanese buyer a couple years ago.
