ID this phone please -> STC 2724 "Antwerp Phone"

This phone has Chinese or Japanese characters on it. It looks like its from the 1930s era, but I think it is made in the 1950s.

That is the Chinese version of the "Antwerp" phone (info link).  The design belonged to ITT which manufactured telephones and owned telephone companies all over the world.  I have an Argentinian version.  Brinybay has a Japanese one.  That phone design was probably the longest lasting of any in the world having been used from the 1930s into the 1970s.

Thanks for the link to the STC phones.

I got the phone working, all I need now is a pair of gongs to fit it.
Interesting note-You have to add a varistor across the receiver as it is a REALLY loud clicker!

Where did you find this phone?  I see the Chinese ones on ebay occasionally, but they are usually in bad condition and outrageously overpriced.

I found this phone at a local "Antiques Fair" which is held once a month.
I've seen the eBay ones and they do look bad.  Shipping is a killer.
