ATC Component codes and Customer Identifier codes

I have noticed that on ATC Empress sets supplied with WE components, that the letter "N" will follow the dial code on the original ATC label as the component configuration code, (I had previously mistook it for the customer ID code, but based on it's position in the code it's more likely to be a component configuration code),but there is usually no customer identifier code between the dial and component configuration code, and the set model number and color code.

My Empress 2 came from Chesapeake & Potomac Tel.; I'm guessing they were BSOC companies, but don't know for sure. If they are, would the customer ID code"D-B" for Bell System be correct?

Usually when I've received other Empress sets like mine the ATC model and date code label was covered over by WE labels which makes the ATC code difficult to figure out.

Also, I understand the C & P Tel. Co. consisted of 4 companies, were all of them BSOC's?

If anyone can please answer or clarify on my inquiry, I would be most thankful.
