Another error sign? Take a look at the lower hubcap Missing the "incorporated" wording.
I remember reading somewhere that "incorporated".was added later. The square sign has the thicker white border of early sign though. Speaking of "Incorporated" on Southern Bell signs, check out these two versions of the same sign:
