Title: TT Princess Cannot Break DT
Post by: Doug Rose on October 13, 2018, 03:26:07 PM
Jan picked up a nice Yellow WE Princess. Really great shape. Conversation loud and clear, rings loud....but I cannot call out. Been a long time sine I worked on a touch tone dial. In the past I would just swap Tip & Ring. Didn't do it. I took it out of the 616 with the same result. $1 phone, but it is in really nice shape. Any ideas?  Thanks...Doug

If it doesn't have a polarity guard, then if the polarity is backwards, you should hear clicks in receiver when dialing rather than tones.

If the polarity is right, you should hear dual tones on all keys. If you only hear one tone on any of the keys, then it won't dial out. But if you hear 2 tones on each button, then the oscillators have probably drifted off-frequency.

No tones it all....just a pause in DT when pressed.  I guess it is dead

It acts like any TT phone I've had when the polarity is wrong.
