Walnut Wood Phone Restoration

Does anyone have any info or links on restoring techniques for walnut wood phone. I have one that will have to be completely stripped and will need  a new wood shelf. I see not threads on any wood phone stripping / refinishing processes for oak or walnut phones.

There are a lot of knowledgable firewood collectors on the list.
They would probably be happy to advise you.
