My home smoke detector is too old to be reliable.  I decided to get a dual detector this time for both smoke and CO.  The main thing that prompted doing it right now, Is I am developing a sinus infection and everything smells like I have my head over a smoking trash fire.  It worries me always smelling it, even though it's not real.  The detector also has a 10 year battery so I will only have to remember to make sure the clocks set each time shift.
