One of the very first telephones I ever bought!

This is a 1967 Western Electric 500 in Aqua Blue refurbished in 1974. One thing I remember most about buying this telephone is that I bought it on Election Day 2008. I remember that day being a soggy, cloudy day. This telephone was repainted with polane paint from it being refurbished. The handset was also repainted with polane as well and the paint has cracked over the years on the handset, you can see them in the pictures. I bought this telephone in Historic Fredericksburg, Va for only $25.

I never knew that polane paint faded just as the original plastic does. Does this happen often?
