Title: Yellow Banjo
Post by: TelePlay on May 15, 2016, 10:41:55 PM
Holy eBay, Phoneman! Anyone watching this auction?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-Yellow-Kellogg-Banjo-Rotary-Phone-DK500-MK500/252383223480

I saw this when listed starting at $9.99. I was thinking about doing an acution contest on it but the crack and plastic marks put me on the no side of that decision. Boy, was I wrong.

Yesterday, it was sitting at $34. It just sold for $424.50! Got 10 bids within the last minute (some multiple bids by one buyer using one click bidding, I assume. 2***8 ( 3853 ) took the phone home. Anyone want to come forward and claim the eBay victory?

Hope that seller was sitting down at end time.

I was playing - to a point, but in the last minute, it jumped from ~$40 to over $400.

(I knew I wouldn't get it that low, but it was fun to watch...

I saw an Ivory or White Banjo 2-tone on eBay back when I first started collecting soft plastic 500s. It was priced at $9.99 BiN, but I passed on it. Now I really regret that decision... :o
