Cleaning a Western Electric 302 Phone

Greetings - Just purchased a WE 302 phone. Can you tell me what is the best way to clean the surface? I believe it is thermoplastic.

Please search the site - it's bakelite - look under bakelite - should give you several to look at!

there are a lot of good suggestions on this site that will help with the cleaning process.  I always use polishing compound to get the grime off, then polish the thermoplastic with novus #2.  If you use a power buffer with the novus, you will usually get a nice high gloss shine.  Good luck with the new phone!  Don't forget to post before and after pictures.
