Were there any plastic G-1 handsets with 6-hole caps?

I have a black 6-hole cap that appears to be plastic, not bakelite.  I know the color sets have 6-hole plastic caps, but how common is it for black ones to have them?

All of my early G-1's have 6-hole receiver caps.
I've never seen a bakelite cap with more than 6 holes-- all the later G-1 handsets made @ 1960 and after often have vinyl covers.

There are black plastic caps with 6 holes.  Some seem to be soft plastic and some a combination of both hard and soft.  The dates are molded into the plastic and are often from 1958 and/or 1959..maybe later dates too but those come to mind.  Those plastic black caps are the ones that get stuck on the Bakelite G1 handsets...the ones I like to use a hair dryer on to free them.  I've even used a hair dryer to warm them to put them back on too.

My black '58 545 has a bakelite G1 with 6 hole plastic cap, and thanks to Dennis' hairdryer method, I was able to finally remove them.
