Every year we celebrate the 17. of May here in Norway ... as no one else.
come and visit us! (Its our national day!)

There is a small town (Stoughton) mostly of Norwegian descent in south central Wisconsin that each year celebrates Syttende Mai. I'd this the same thing? It's a big thing in that town each year.

That is right, we celebrate the day we got our constitution, it is by intention a non political celebration, no military parades, but children in focus, parades, school march bands, icecream, hotdogs, cakes, games and fun. Some speeches, but mostly fun.

The national flag on every house, cars, all the buses ....
