If memory serves it was three coats of paint for the final step.  I let it dry about 10 minutes or so each time, then applied another, then the baking. 

Thanks for the compliment, I was certainly pleased with the results.

like as in a couple of hours like two and did you just paint and let it dry 3 times then bake it after the three final coats

I'm curious,  what did the kitchen oven smell like when it was completed?  Was it still OK to cook food?
