I thought this was for your collection of color 500's! Don't you have enough phones to get rid of!!

Hi David,
Thanks for the handy guide! It helped me with my Ebay description.

mo-
that's an interesting date on the shell. april '59 should be one of the last coloured soft plastic 500 sets. i think the last month was may '59 (apart from black sets which were produced in soft plastic till the mid 60s)

i usually refer to this handy guide for all things 500 -

great job on the clean up btw !

The "History of the 500" page at that link has now unfortunately gone AWOL & vanished into internet nothingness.

Did anyone, by any remote chance, make a copy which they can post ?

Cf. post here by Daniel.....http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=2394.msg36457#msg36457

I can't find the referenced page either (and I've had a very good look), but have found some useful info at https://www.frillfreephones.com/history-1 which appears to have come from the same place.

Paul F's website is my go to reference for everything phones. Here is his WE 500 page:

Thanks Tubaman & Harry. Paul-f's site is definitely invaluable and the FrillFree link does seem to be a copy of Daniel's disappeared History of the 500....... a really good reference resource.    https://www.frillfreephones.com/history-1

Have posted the info here

- in case the FrillFree site vanishes at some future time.
