Can you make a WE 200 type and 300 type transmitter hybrid?

Have a 229 faceplate and a 250 faceplate, just bought the guts and diaphragms from a few 300 series transmitters.  Will they function if I match them up?

Yes.  You will need to adjust the carbon module to get the clearest sound.  After it is assembled, just loosen the screw on the bridge that holds the carbon module and move the module up and down slightly while speaking into the mouthpiece until you get the clearest voice with the best volume.  I connect the transmitter to the sound card on my laptop and run Sound Recorder while tuning the module.
