Title: Strange old business card on eBay
Post by: Adam on March 10, 2014, 11:42:37 PM
Just spotted this on eBay.

Does anybody else see what immediately struck me as strange about this business card?

Maybe in the days when this card was used there was no need for a phone number? If you picked up the handset and asked the operator "Give me Mr. E.R. Carley in Munith," she knew who and where and that's all they needed to know in those days. Like Andy Griffith picking up the phone and saying "Sarah, get me my house." Their world was a much smaller place than anything today.

It seems to me, if you had a phone line to call him, you wouldn't need his services.
