Is this a second generation wall wart for the Princess style phones. The one I have is the same color, but more rounded at corners, that was 1st generation, as My Mom got it New in 1960.
It reads 125 volts input, 6-8 volts output. Seems original was 18 or 24 volt. Of course I know a simple bulb change would work.

Dan:

Princess wall warts are all 6-8 volts.  The 18-24 volt versions of the same wall wart are for applications such as speakerphones.

The transformers look identical and have very similar part numbers.

I've about tore my place apart looking for that original Wall wart my Mom had with her Princess, My Dad kept it and I inherited it in a box of his stuff.
It looks exactly like the one pictured except the corners are very rounded. I may be wrong on the voltage, It just seemed I recall it was 18 or 24 volts output, it may have been another one I recall for a doorbell, but somewhere in my stash is the original transformer from my moms Princess

Dumb question - What's its purpose?
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.
