I recall the first time I used the Phrase; " You Guys". It was at work, and I needed a some help getting some chairs moved. I went to a group of gals sitting at a table, and asked; "Can you guys help me move these chairs".
One of the Ladies replied; "Do we look like guys to you".
My response was; "Never mind, I'll move them myself".

In these parts "You Guys" means anyone, male or female.  It's sort of like "Ya'll" in the south.  The real northerners up in the Yuper (U.P.--upper peninsula) say "Youze Guys".  Probably in other places too, like Wisconsin, hey Tom?

Dan/Panther

Dennis;
That's what I meant, 'don't ya know...'

Bwanna;
Of course, but in the case of the gals at work, I didn't want to commit myself.
Anyone of them, probably could have beat my ASS! :o :o :o

Here a fair number of folks use the term "Foo" to refer to people in general.  Examples:

Sup foos?

Hey foo, pick that up.

Nah, foo, that ain't right.

What you foos doin?

And so on.

It wasn't until SBC took over and people from that region started participating on conference calls that I learned "Y'all" is basically the singular form of address.  If it's more than one person, the proper form is "All y'all."  Who knew?
