Western Electric v. Northern Electric questions

Looking through the practices and the marketing brochures of the Northern Electric 500/554 Q3A sets, which state, for example, that the 554 Q3A is the replacement for the N1717CG. This raised a question in my mind - did NE ever produce a 307 or 357 set (local battery)? By the above reference, I would think not!

This further got me wondering. We know that while Northern Electric produced many phones identical to Western Electric, they also produced many that WE never made, such as the N515, N717 series, the Uniphone series, etc. My question is - did WE produce anything that NE did not produce? I don't believe that NE made the Trimline or the Panel phone (not 100% sure), but is there anything else that WE made that NE didn't?

IIRC, Northern did not make B-type hand set mountings (102, etc). Bell Canada
used SC 1177s, according to a photo I picked up at the Bell Canada archives in
Montréal in 1973.

All E4 hand set mountings ( 205s) used in Canada were imported from WE, but several years after
introduction in the US. Since this was later than 1937, they were equipped only
with NE F1A handsets.

I believe that Canadian law required transmitters and receivers to be
manufactured domestically. Also, high tariffs motivated local manufacture of
many products, not just telephones.

The 352 (M1 Tel Set Mounting) was apparently made only in Canada (NE).

I believe that NE never made Card Dialers.  At least, I have never seen one!

So,  does this mean that if someone in Canada wanted a card dialer they could not have one?
Or would NE provide a WE unit?

I would assume that Canadian phone companies could have ordered Card Dialers from WE just as other non-Bell companies in the U.S. did.  I know for a fact that General Telephone offered WE Card Dialers in Southern California for at least a little while.  Of course, any such sets would most likely have had W suffixes in their part numbers, rather than Bell System identification.
