OK, now that you all know what I'm looking for.... I'm also in need of the BLACK pushbuttons from the 400 series phones.... these are normally found on the 440 and 460 unlit sets. because the 400 series lit sets all have the clear buttons I substitute the clear hold key for a black key to make the set easier to read from a glance. (hold key) If the 400 series phones had a lit hold key... this problem would be different.... but its not. also, does anyone know if W.E. ever made these phones with COLORED keys? that too would be on my list....

I don't remember where, It might have been from Paul F's website, but I think I read recently that colored keyset buttons came out in the 1960's on the 5XX series keysets.

the ones I'm talking about went to the 464/65 phones... they are the short clear buttons... did they make them in other colors?

Recently the TCI list uploaded a BSP to the Library, titled:

COLORED BUTTONS
FOR USE IN KEY TELEPHONE SETS, CALL DIRECTORS,
CARD DIALERS, SEPARATELY MOUNTED KEYS,
AND 400-TYPE KEY MOUNTINGS

It does show what colors (and stripes) were available for both round and square buttons, for installation on
the various models of keysets and other devices, but I don't recall if it
covered 400-series instruments, but you may want to check there
