Bought this desk from a gentleman in Harpswell, Maine. Busted him down to $140, it was more than I wanted to spend but I definitely got a bargain. Its leather covered but he said he doesn't think the leather is original... not sure I want to remove it though, I kind of like it! I'm planning on moving the desktop elsewhere as soon as I have a better place... it's kind of out of place.

Nice! Did the chair come with it? I have been looking for a chair like that to go with my 1930's rolltop desk, found one at an auction house here in FL but they wanted $360.00 for it :o
Still looking!

Yes, they came together. One of the reasons I couldn't help but get it.

Only one thing would improve that desk - an antique radio sitting on top of it!

I disagree.  There are two things, an antique radio AND an antique clock
.

In the summer, an antique fan will be needed as well :)

I would LOVE one of those clocks. And Bill, honestly, yes... I had thought of actually putting the radio I bought from you on the desk. But I was thinking something smaller might be more fitting, and I'll have to find a new home for my computer as well.

I'll take all these as wedding gifts if anyone has extras theyre willing to donate! Hahaha

Here's a good compact radio for the desk (Delco R-1231):

Larry...I love that clock! I think the moving cubes are facinating. I had one, but it decided not to play anymore. That is a beauty...Doug

I have four vintage "digital" clocks.  The one in the picture is a 1930s Pennwood.  I also have a 1950 Pennwood "Tele-vision" clock, a Pennwood model 100 from 1965, and Telechron 8B11 "Granada".

A Sam Spade Maltese Falcon Ronson Touch-Tip Lighter with Clock face would be nice on that desk
