Title: Is It Real?
Post by: HarrySmith on May 22, 2021, 02:10:33 PM
A guy who purchased a few phones from me sent me a couple of pictures of a phone he found in a booth he purchased. I am not a pay station expert so I am asking here, is it correct & real?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Built by Chicago Old telephone. The Grey coin collector is real along with the AE handset. The wooden cabnets were built by a local cabnet maker

If it was in a wooden booth, COT made a few out of oak with leaded glass windows. It was too expensave and not many were sold

Robbie, you are right on the money. He just sent me a picture of the booth, just as you said. He does not have a key for the pay station. Do you know what he might need to open it?
Thanks for the info!

This guy has a vintage goods store in Florida. I am sure it is or will be for sale. Do you want his contact info? ;D

For anyone who might be interested here is his site:

He has a lot more stuff than what is on the site. I think he sells a lot of stuff locally.

If you can get the coin colletor off the wooden backboard, you can use a screwdriver to back out rge screws that hold it.
