Early American Wall Rotary Phone made by the American Phone Co.

I was just taking a gander on ebay to see if there are any american phones on ebayUK, and this showed up (it's in the US though):

Looks pretty darned modern to me, the bells on the top aren't even real!!!

Not to mention, "The american phone co." is in Japan, according to the label on the back...

Infact, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a phone I saw at the Burnley market hall back in Lancashire (before we moved) the same day I bought my Two-Tone green 746, probably made by the same company...

Yeah, it's about as vintage as my Nokia 3310 mobile phone...

Well, that 4-prong plug probably puts it in the '60s. That's old and "vintage", right?

Usually the "United States Telephone Company" sets that you find were sold just as the shell, and then you paid $25 for Bell to install the working parts, which you had to lease each month. This one is different because it contains no such Western Electric parts.
