Seller Listing Title:  "UNUSUAL 50G Gray Telephone Paystation Company 3-slot Pay Telephone"
Condition:  "Used"
Condition Qualifier:  "Very unusual bottom housing on this Gray Telephone Paystation Company 3-slot pay telephone. Carefully restored to period/original condition. All components are original, with no reproduction parts used"

Listing Description:  "Very unusual bottom housing on this Gray Telephone Paystation Company 3-slot pay telephone. I acquired this bottom housing long ago from Paul Vaverchak, and had never seen another, nor had any  other vintage pay telephone collector that I showed it to.  -- NOTE: This is not just a piece of metal added to a "normal" bottom housing. It is a complete front assembly, attached in the manufacturing process; just like conventional bottom housings, only with the added "ears". --  Ironically, a 2nd bottom housing like this was acquired at the August 2017 Shipshewana Phone Show. This 2nd housing is marked, "The Gray Manufacturing Company", leading me to believe that these were possibly an experiment of sorts by Gray to fashion a payphone housing to allow the mounting on flat surfaces without the use of a #139 heavy, cast-iron bracket. -- I have carefully restored this special gem to period/original condition. All components are early/original, with no reproduction parts used with the exception of the brass "50G" tag on the top housing. It is solid brass, but appears to have been cast instead of stamped like the originals were. -- If there are any negatives, it is that over the years of carting it around to phone shows, I have unfortunately put a couple of small chips in the paint, but it still looks good!"
