I have the same model of Emerson fan.  It does not look quite as nice, so I would be willing to let it go for only $950

BTW, the blades are supposed to be painted, not polished brass.

I wondered if they were, looks nice regardless. There is another Emerson fan on there in working used condition that looks almost identical for... wait for it... $35.

Realistically, for the enormous amount of time, energy, and mess that restoring a fan involves, a fully restored one may be worth a few hundred dollars to someone.  Still, $1000+ seems awfully high for a fan model which is not very rare.

I paid $60 for mine to a local craigslist seller, but it was filthy and needed quite a bit of work.

As with telephones, sometime things just get over refurbed. As beautiful as it is, it is unrealistic. I can't imagine it looked like this when it was pulled from the box new. To me it's just overdone, nice, but overdone....Doug
