Found these in a box of GPO parts. Straight handset cords, not fabric or rubber.

Does anyone know what model phones this style might have been used on?

Interesting.

Not 706/746 series as they were (a) grommeted (b) 4-wire (c) the receiver wires were longer to go up the handset.

tie-ends, 3-wire, even lengths, suggests 200 or 300 series handsets.

I've seen coiled plastic cords on later 300 series phones. I haven't seen straight plastic cords on GPO 300 phones, but perhaps they were used on non-GPO phones, such as PBX or railway phones?

Not sure I can be much help here.

What do you mean by "grebe" style?
How do you know they are handset cords - from the length?
You say "not rubber" - did the GPO use rubber cords? I don't remember.

From the colour coding alone they could be handset cords, bellset cords or line cords.

If there is a string loop retainer at one end and a straight string at the other it is probably a handset cord. I haven't seen one on a GPO phone but they were used as replacement 300 series cords in Australia (and probably elsewhere and privately) before the use of coiled cords.

If there is a string at each end, it is probably one of the other cords - depending on length.

The code would help but I guess that is long gone.
