I have this Stromberg Carlson 1243 that doesn't ring. The ringer on it *looks* like it might be a 302 ringer, but is it a frequency ringer? Not really sure why it doesn't ring, the wiring looks correct to me. Thanks

Yes, that is a WE B1A ringer. No, it is not a frequency-selective ringer.
Try strapping L2 to C1. Or, connect the green and yellow wires together at the other end of the line cord.

Thanks, I tried both of these but still not getting any ring.

Have you tried checking the continuity of the coils with a DVM?

If the coils are continuous, is all that rust on the pivot inhibiting the armature from moving back and forth, is it frozen?

If not frozen, have you moved the bias spring to the lowest setting, easier for the armature to move?

you have to have l2 and g connected together  on the network.

Did you see these 1243 wiring diagrams?

Looks like the ringer is connected to "3" and "C1" or "C2" depending on which ringer capacitance you want to use.

L2 is strapped to G.

tried it by strapping L2 to G, ringer is connected to 3 and C1, tried it by connecting to C2 and C1 strapped to C2. Unfortunately still not ringing. Thinking there may be an issue with the ringer itself. Going to have a look at the ringer coils and the ringer arm next. Thanks!

those networks in SC 1243 sets often had bad ringer capacitors in them .you can put a capacitor  on one side on  the ringer adn bridige it across l1 and l2 ans see if it works
