THIS one has a red body and the black hand piece may have been replaced (bakelight) -- I was asked if it was brown -it is not it is red & it has not been painted."

This is going to be a tough one to guess. I am not certain if this is the very infrequently seen AE Maroon color or not. Seller says it is "red" but if it is the bright "Chinese Red" his camera color is WAY OFF. I'm thinking he means dark red or maybe Maroon? Of course the matching handset is AWOL though the black handset looks nice with it as well.

It hasn't been ruled that it could be painted however I see no chips showing black Bakelite and I have seen a coloured AE in a similar color before assuming the color in the eBay auction is at least close to accurate.
