Pink 1959 Before and After

Just finished my 1959 Pink Mushroom phone. Before & after pictures plus one of the light on with the dial in motion

How did you darken up the handset and lamp cover?

I do not think it is soft as I did not get the smell from it although it is dated 1959
I did not darken them, I replaced them

June 59 and later are usually6 hard plastic, may 59 and older are soft. What month is yours?

Harry, have you considered dying the handset cord using DyeKem to darken it up some?
Dan/Panther had such good results with <his pink cord> I figured it could work for you, too.

Yeah, I thought about dying it but with the faded number ring I decided to leave it. I aslo considered sanding but that would have meant the entire phone which I am not ready to do again plus I did not want to lose the embossing

Where did you get a new cover cap for the light?

Same place I got the handset, from the "donor" phone! There are reproduction caps out there, as a matter of fact one of our members just made one.
