Wow! And complete with an invoice from the phone company. I never knew you could actually buy a phone in 1952, but there's the proof. Southwestern Bell sold it to him. Does FRMN mean fireman? That would explain the red.

It also has the red mask or masks for the fingerwheel. I've seen in other auctions that these came with three masks before, depending on the size of the card behind it.

Oh yes, it will go high. Very, very high.

It's in my watch list.  :o

I expect it to hit $2500

Does it say $20 per phone on the invoice?

Jorge...there are some very deep pockets in our small world of collectors. I think it will go double that,...... 5K.....Doug

Doug:

Very possible, since logic doesn't seem to apply to vintage collectors.

We should post $$$ figures for the final auction value. Hopefully it will catch Bingster's attention and turn into an official forum auction.

If you guys are monitoring the bidders on this phone, check out the heavy hitters bidding on it. Except for a rookie with a feedback of 165, the veterans start with a feedback of 540 all the way to 7015.

It is going to be like the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.  ;D

OMG that phone is beautiful! I love what the dial center says too...

Holy priceless relic Batman!  I'm going to sit on the sidelines and gawk at the final price, which is going to pay for a trip to Fiji for the winner.

How many of these things are just sitting around out there???

Dan

Bingster, the last auction is over, this HAS to be the next one!

I know of a stash of colored NIB 302's  My understanding is there are several colors (including a strange shade of green?) and it sound like they are probably late production sets. They are stored in a goverment facility. I beleive the facility is climate controlled. At some point in time I hope to be able to buy them.

I suspect they are waiting for the right time to sell them to me ;D

This facility was built after the 500 set came out. I was surprised they ever used 302's in the facility. I was told "Tried and True".

I don't know why they still have them. I was pushing my contact into talking to his boss about selling them as surplus. I think there are 6-8 sets.

The facility has upgraded the phone system at least 2x since it was built.
