Over Easter holiday, my wife and I went to see Punchdrunk's 'Sleep No More' in NYC. What a show! The show takes place inside of an old factory, which has been converted into a giant interactive stage set. Audience members are given masks and allowed to interact with characters while they perform their various scenes taking part on 5 different floors. No talking... It's a take off of Macbeth. The set is set up like an old Art Deco Style hotel. Why I am bringing this up is because, just about every room has telephones from the 1930's and 1940's. At first I didn't notice the telephones in the set, but after I saw one metal 302 with and AE dial. I couldn't stop noticing the rest of the telephones throughout the set. The lobby of the set hotel, had 3 jukebox style wall phones in 3 vintage phone booths. The phones are actually hooked up and the audience is encouraged to dial numbers from various rooms throughout the set. Naturally you get a recorded message, but still very cool. This show is not for everyone, but the set is designed in such a way that snooping is encouraged. I would love to get my hands on the phones after the show closes.

Here is a link to the show.
