Piece Behind Dial is LOOSE (Youtube video Link)

Hello All,
I recently bought a brown ITT wall rotary phone. The ringer works and can receive calls.

The problem is that the piece behind the dial (with the dial numbers, sorry I don't know the name) is loose and it is causing a problem with the dialing. I took the dial off and it spins fine. The metal finger stopper is not laying flat and thus I cannot dial.

Here is a link to the youtube video so you can see what I am referring too:

I'm stumped because the visible screws are tight.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Also, if I left anything out, let me know.

Thank you!
Tom

Easily remedied. There is a metal ring at the center of the bezel(part with numbers) that locks the bezel in. The ring rotates to lock in. I'd use a screwdriver. See if that solves the issue.

Kenton,

Thank you for the response.

I think I know the piece you are talking about.  It did look off. I'll work on it this weekend.

Thank you again,
Tom

Kenton,

You nailed it. That solved the problem and the piece stable.

Now I can work on my next repair on a phone that I bought yesterday. The guy might have screwed up the dial. It's half on half off.  I'll post it a new topic if I can't fix it myself.

Thank you again,
Tom
