I bought this recently on ebay and I would like to know more about this Strowger Automatic Dial paperweight. I know that it is a souvenier of 1928 Annual Convention U.S. Independent Telephone Association. I also know that it is a #24 dial(it says so inside)
Now the questions;
1)Where was the convention held?
2)Were many of these made?
3)When did Automatic Electric Inc. become Automatic Electric Co.?
   Some of my older phones are AE Inc. and later ones are AE Co.

I wondered if the takeover by Theodore Garry might have led to the change from Inc to Co. so I looked it up and the takeover was in 1919 so that rules that event out.

More info. The USITA Convention was held in the Stevens Hotel  720 S Michigan Ave. Chicago, IL (Now the Chicago Hilton)  for many years. This was the mid 50's, so I don't know if it would go back as far as 1928 or not.

It was said the Gary Goff is amoung the owners of these.

Did I hear that Gary G was here on the forum ?
