My better half complaints about the weak receiver.

I have a 500 and a 2500 on the line at our summer house, and my wife tells me that the 500 has a far weaker reception, any idea why and how to solve it?

It is of importance to have a happy wife to get less argues about the need of keeping the phone line.   ;D

Do both phones use the same receiver element?
could try swapping and test. :)

They looks equal. I will give it a try at next visit.

Is the line to the jack fed from an earlier line. Meaning is it a direct run from the source, or is it daisy changed from other jacks. Because if there are splices in the line before that phone that could be drawing from your questionable phone.
I've seen it before, that's why I ask..

The line is divided in 2 runs at the first screw terminal box in the house, and the longest run is to the phone the strongest sound, I guess swapping the phones will be the easiest way to determine if one part of the line is weaker then the other.

Next time I go there I will try to swap the phones as the first test, then maybe put in another receiverelement, but that will not be the original in that phone. Maybe a modern moving coil receiver will be better?
