I've never purchased a vintage SC Desk set before. Did I got hosed on this one ? I know the 500 clones are inferior to ITT's. I've always liked this design, and the Price seemed right.

That is the proper handset for your new SC.

D/P ,
Is this a 1543 ?   What year?  My handset from 1961 on a 1543W has 6 hole receiver cap and another that has 7 hole receiver cap.
Looks like the right handset from here.    stub

The phone is an early SC 1543.  I bought one several months ago for $4.20, but it needed alot of work.  I posted pictures of three SC phones a while back (http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=1888.msg25235#msg25235).
