Title: Telephone schematic question?

On the dial part of the BSP schematic, does the line(-) across the wire indicate normally closed contacts and the X across the wire indicate a normally open contact?

The vertical line | is normally closed, such as a dial pulse switch, and th  X is normally open, and is seen on hook switch contacts in the on-hook position.
