Title: Heinz Ketchup Phone
Post by: Sigmaz on February 28, 2018, 01:31:22 PM
So I'm sitting in my office and I push back from my desk to take a break... That's when I look up at my bookshelf and focus my eyes on some of my trinkets and doodads.
That's when I remembered that this bottle of unsuspecting Ketchup was in fact a novelty phone. (Because everyone keeps condiments on their bookshelves).
I can't remember when or where I got it but sure enough it's been up there for at least 16 years.
Glad I took the time to look at the shelf, needed some dusting.

FWIW -- it's pulse dial BTW  :)

I have a Dale Earnhardt and a Richard Petty car phone. Saw a Coke bottle phone in collectible shop the other day.

Ok, I've tried everything I can think of. I can make the ketchup point left, right or upside down but not upright. This is the 1st time I tried taking a picture with my iPad & posting the picture with the same iPad.

There is a huge asst. of food and drink telephones. I have many of the ones in this book. I was buying them for the kids when they were small.

My collecting novelty phones started with a nib Heinz ketchup bottle phone, I saw a bottle in a yard sale, next to it was a box with the picture of it, and the words "phone".
I saw the price $1.00 so I snatched it up, turns out it was brand new. I have never seen it before and thought I had a great find. That was the flagship of my novelty phones collection.
