The topic will show how to completely take apart an "newer type" Stromberg Carlson dial for cleaning and proper lubrication during assembly.

The difference between an "older" and "newer" type SC dial is here determined as such:

1)  the older type has 2 screws holding the dial mechanism plate and pile up to the dial case.
2)  the "newer" type as 3 screws holding the dial mechanism plate to the dial case (the pile up is not attached to the plate)

Since the finger wheel, finger stop and number ring on SC dials vary from dial to dial, instructions for removing those parts are not included in this topic.

This specific dial has a fixed, non-removable (4 metal posts are passed through the dial case and bent over) number ring, a Bakelite finger wheel and a finger stop that is attached from the back of the dial case and can only be removed after all of the back side dialing mechanism is removed. Front side components are shown in the assembly topic for this dial.

This topic only addresses disassembly of the back side of this dial once the front side parts and the back side plastic dust cover have been removed.
