I have good news and bad news...which one does everyone want first?

The good news is that the Find of the Month for October is going to be a little easier for everyone to study the contestants and decide who the winner should be.

The bad news is that per the rules of the Find of the Month we have to disqualify Persido's "find", the two tone gray 500.

It is a bit of a balancing act to keep the competition as fair as possible while keeping it fun as well. Thus we have some rules to keep it fair and one of them is that a find has to be something that wasn't found and then sold right away.

Sometimes the enforcement of this rule wouldn't be of any consequence but in this case, Persido's find was a great one which makes it more difficult to accept. We hope everyone understands.

That is too bad I would have voted for the Persido's find.   But the rules do say that the item must not currently be for sale.

Nevertheless,  the find is exceptional!  It gives me hope that someday I will also find a treasure and that there are wonderful finds like this still out there.

Okay, the October 2014 Find of the Month poll is ready for your vote. Well, err ... TWO VOTES actually. Everyone study the candidates and pick what would be your TWO "Finds of the Month"!

Okay, sorry to do this but some EXCELLENT competition this month with the two front runners being virtually tied the whole time.

Therefore, we need a quick run off vote to determine who really won and who almost won this month! One vote each, everyone vote again for your favourite from these two choices.

Thanks to all of the other competitors this month, excellent finds one and all!

Here's the results up until now:

Well, let's just say that Kenton's luck is pretty good lately... ;)

Why don't you just let voting run for 2 or 3 weeks in the first place and not worry about it day by day?

Okay then, it looks like Kenton K has done it this time. Not a second place showing like in August but a First Place Win this time though it was close.

It was a long tortuous journey to the finish line, virtually tied all the way through the first round AND the run-off round. rrnora's Maroon North Electric Galion was a fierce competitor but in the end Kenton's red 302 that his Eagle Eye spotted hiding under a coat of black paint when listed on eBay proved to be the Find of the Month winner slipping by rrnora's find by little more than the thickness of a number card.

This is Kenton's first win on the Find of the Month! Congratulations Kenton!

Congratulations are in order to new CRPF member rrnora for her fabulous find as well. Next time, right Nora? And congrats to all entrants for their great finds and thanks to everyone who voted this month.
