https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/old-phone-746-style-in-grey/254235815407

"old style phone for sale
the dial returns OK
apart from the hole in bottom corner there is no splits or cracks in casing
I don't think it's been converted
the white on the top right of the dial is the remnants of a sticker
a couple of holes in the handset, (I don't know if they are meant to be there)
needs working on"

It's only a very small hole after all!!
;D

Could be handy for the Handset No.5, although that version does require a battery to operate it, so there's probably some extra wiring inside that makes the phone a little different to a standard 746... :)

But yeah, just a little hole there... ;D

EDIT:
The handset could be a 14A, hard to tell the difference from the outside...

It may well reappear 'upcycled' with a stick on plastic plant 'growing' out of the hole.

Me - gotta be a toy mouse coming out of there. After all, there is a mouse hole around the back....  ;D

For me, I think it's a hoot that they are trying to sell it with out the words "for parts" in the description header.
Because it's quite obvious that the set is a parts phone.

New replacement shells can be had, so take that one off, polish up the surviving plastic parts, apply a new shell, done... :)

But the two-tone grey is such a common colour that, yeah, more likely to become parts than a fixer-upper, or as FAB says, as an upcycled item...  ;D

Hmm, just been having anther look at this one (thinking of it for possible parts to repair my 1/764), and looking at the red BT label and what it's covering up, I think the base of this phone used to be a 2/764, which used the blue battery for the pushbutton dial, and as Pye-TMC (Manufacturer code GNA) made the 2/ version, much like my "Yeoman" 8746 chocolate brown former-740, it definitely looks to have been upcycled already at least once in its' life!!! ;D

Amazing the things one notices when bored at 4 in the morning...  ;D
