Hello forum members,

found these ... what are these parts for?

Thanks!

The top one is a 'peg counter' for a telephone switch, so you can see how many calls have been made on it. The bottom one is just a terminal strip it appears. I would be interested in buying the counter from you, PM me if you are interested.

A quick Google site search in the TCI Library turned up this reference for the 149A Adapter...

To see how the counters were used in COs to record traffic, and a camera used to photograph banks of them for accounting use, see pages 104-105 of A History of Engineering and Science in the Bell System - Switching Technonogy (1925-1975).

If you don't have your hard copy handy, there's a copy of the book in the TCI Library

When I click on that link, I get a list 7 pages long. Here is the link for 461-200-102-i6 alone:

The 149A is useful for breaking out the A1 lead, common audible ringer leads (yellow-slate/slate yellow), and the last 5 (violet) pairs of a 25-pair cable for connecting auxiliary ringers, push-button pads for manual intercom, etc. (Just remember to strap pairs 20, 23, 24 and 25 if needed inside the set.)
